Yellow Line extends to Greenbelt Dec. 31
Starting Dec. 31, the Yellow Line will extend to Greenbelt for the first time since 2023. Every other Yellow Line train will serve Greenbelt, with the other half of trains turning around at Mt. Vernon Square. The Yellow Line service extension will offer service to stations north of Mt. Vernon Square every 4 minutes during peak service and every 6 minutes during off-peak service. This will allow for more direct service between Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
“Extending Yellow Line service to Greenbelt is about making travel simpler and more convenient for our customers. This change creates more one-seat rides across the region, better connecting Maryland, D.C., and Virginia and giving riders more flexibility in how they move throughout the system. We’re grateful for our customers’ patience as we completed this work and are excited to deliver these improvements.”
